The State Procurement Board is in negotiation with the Chartered
Institute of Purchasing and Supply Australia (CIPSA) to accredit participants
who have successfully completed the pCAPd workshops and assessments against
the CIPS ladder of qualifications that eventually lead to the MCIPS qualification.
The ladder consists of six levels with Level 6 qualifying for MCIPS recognition.

These amendments support the Government's Honesty and Accountability initiative by introducing statutory obligations concerning honesty and conflicts of interest for all persons performing work for the public sector. Certification and Development Guidelines
The State Procurement Board has developed a procurement certification and
development guideline. This guideline provides a suggested approach for assisting
South Australian Public Authorities to identify officers requiring Procurement
Certification and/or development. It provides a Strategic framework for ensuring
those responsible for undertaking procurement activities have an appropriate
level of competence.

State Procurement Act
Cabinet has approved the drafting the State Procurement Bill on 17 March
2003. As part of the Government's 10-Point Plan for Honesty and Accountability
in Government. A review of the current State Supply Act has identified that
whilst it has facilitated improved procurement practices across Government,
the introduction of a replacement Act, the State Procurement Act would provide
a broader platform to provide leadership in all procurement activities.
